The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is located in the Bay of Islands, at the top of the North Island of New Zealand. Set on 6,000 acres of Pacific Coast-land, this luxury lodge is one of the most celebrated boutique resort hotels in the world. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our team.

Kauri Cliffs is a member of Relais & Chateaux, an exclusive collection of the finest hotels and restaurants in the world.

We are currently looking for a Reception Manager to lead our reception team to deliver the ultimate guest experience.  

What you will do...

The Reception Manager is responsible for overseeing the reception team, providing reports, meeting with and assisting guests, liaising with the accounts team regarding invoices and payments and ensuring all departments are kept up to date on reservations and guest requirements.  In addition, the Reception Manager will be required to roll up their sleeves and do reception shifts. 

About you...

The successful candidate must be passionate, well presented, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and most importantly, will go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver a true five-star experience for our guests. In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate - 

  • Previous experience in a senior reception role within a five-star hotel or lodge environment (previous Relais & Chateaux experiences highly desirable)
  • A working knowledge of RMS or Opera Property Management system as well as above average computer skills
  • Management / Supervisory experience
  • Excellent organisational / administrative skills
  • The ability to lead, train and drive teams to achieve consistently high standards
  • A passion for developing a career in the hospitality sector
